The Undergraduate Certificate in Documentary Production at Webster University is designed to give students from all disciplines the theoretical and practical skills to produce documentary films.
The curriculum focuses on the history of documentary films, media production and areas of anthropology and media studies. Webster University offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary Documentary Production Certificate program designed to benefit students from all backgrounds and academic disciplines to learn the skills needed to use storytelling to highlight real-life experiences and bring attention to social issues. Students will choose from a selection of courses designed to guide them through the production process, helping them to create compelling, memorable media.

- ANSO 1060 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (3 hours)
- AUDI 1000 Audio Production for Non-Majors (3 hours)
- FTVP 1000 Introduction to Film, Television, and Video Production (3 hours)
- FTVP 3110 Documentary Production (3 hours)
One (1) of the following courses:
- ANSO 2850 Introduction to Research Methods (3 hours)
- JOUR 2140 Multimedia News Reporting II (2 hours)
and JOUR 2141 Multimedia News Reporting II Lab (1 hour)
One (1) of the following courses:
- AUDI 1063 Introduction to Podcasting (3 hours)
- EPMD 1000 Introduction to Media Productions (3 hours)
