Schultz Hall is an air-conditioned, on-campus Global Village for freshman students that features individual bedrooms in two-person suites with communal bathrooms, common area lounges, community kitchens and access to coin laundry facilities. The Global Village specialty community provides additional support for new international students and encourages cultural exploration and appreciation.

All Schultz Hall residents are provided with a fully furnished room. Due to rooms in the building having varied shapes and setups, specific furniture varies per suite. Each resident has the following:

  • Junior Loft Bed* (up to 31" under bed clearance) with Twin XL mattress (38" x 80")
  • Closet

  • Desk Chair

Within each suite, this is also a shared space with a combination of soft furniture options.

*Please note that we do allow items to be hung on the walls, but students will be charged for excessive wall/paint damages. Painter’s tape is recommended for hanging items. We do not recommend utilizing Command hooks/strips due to the possibility of tearing paint during removal. Students choosing to use Command hooks/strips do so knowing damage charges may result at removal.

What NOT to Bring

  • Anything with an exposed or open heating element (toaster, hot plate, etc.)
  • Candles/incense, or anything to burn
  • Curtains or window coverings (blinds are provided)
  • Flushable wipes (clog plumbing; if bringing, please dispose in trash)
  • Pets that can survive out of water (exceptions for approved service animals)
  • Tide pods (clog detergent dispenser in washers)
  • Tapestries, lights, etc. to drape across the ceiling – no items may cover the smoke detector on the ceiling

Housing Costs

All freshmen enrolled at the St. Louis campus are required to live on campus for their first two years at Webster University.

All students living in the residence halls (West, East and Maria halls) and all first-time freshmen living on campus are required to have a meal plan for the full academic year.

Parking Costs

Parking permits are required for all Webster University parking lots and the Garden Park Plaza garage. Parking permits define where vehicles, including bicycles must be parked or stored. Options for West Hall residents include a Light Blue Residence Hall Permit, Motorcycle Permit and a Bicycle/Scooter Permit.

About Schultz Hall

Room Types: Individual bedrooms in two-person suites.
Bathrooms: Communal; residents share 1-2 bathrooms per floor.
Dining: All students living in the residence halls (West, East, Maria and Schultz halls) and all first-time freshmen living on campus are required to have a meal plan for the full academic year. Schultz Hall is across the street from Marletto's, the central dining hall on campus.
Parking: Students who live in the residence halls park in the Garden Park Plaza or Lot M with a purchased permit.
Population: Schultz Hall is a specialty community, called the Global Village, that provides additional support for new international students and encourages cultural exploration and appreciation. It is open to all freshmen. Schultz has up to 40 residents over two floors. All suites are single gender, but floors may be mixed gender. Webster supports inclusive housing.
Special Hours: Schultz Hall is closed during winter break. If you are a resident in the residence halls and need housing during winter break, please contact housing@webster.edu.
Security: Schultz Hall is fob-access restricted 24 hours a day and residents are expected to lock their room and suite doors. After the Housing Office is closed, students who need assistance should contact the RA-on-call, go to the Maria Hall desk, or call Public Safety.
