Kindermusik® Foundations

Newborn - 18 months, with a caregiver

40-minute class, once a week for 14 weeks

Foundation classes provide a welcoming environment where caregivers connect and support each other, while babies explore and react to new sounds, sensations, and objects. Shared activities support baby's development and strengthen your connection with your child during this crucial time.

“Feathers”

Fly high, swoop low, and groove to the beat!

Kindermusik Kit: Access to class music on the Kindermusik app, a colorful picture book of birds—Feathers, art banners, and a chime ball. Kindermusik materials kit fees are non-refundable once materials are opened.

Session B: Oct. 26 - Dec. 18, 2021 (weeks 8-14)

“Do-Si-Do”

Dance and swing, play and sing with your little one!

Kindermusik Kit: Access to class music on the Kindermusik app, Do-Si-Do – a board book with a lilting move-to-it rhyming text, art banners, a Kindermusik egg shaker and scarf. Kindermusik materials kit fees are non-refundable once materials are opened.


ACTIVITIES

  • Listening to and experiencing songs and rhymes
  • Back-and-forth vocal plays and other parent-child interactions that build neural pathways in a baby's developing brain
  • Instrument play and introduction to basic music concepts such as high/low, fast/slow, and holding a steady beat
  • Baby-caregiver bonding exercises, including storytime, massage, and relaxation activities

SKILLS & BENEFITS

  • Increased balance and control over movements and strengthened core muscles
  • Development of basic gross motor skills, fine motor control, and coordination
  • Growing ability to recognize and follow patterns in music and move to a steady beat, fundamental skills that have been linked to math and language
  • Introduction to a variety of spoken sounds and rhythms that will support language and literacy development


Kindermusik Level 2

Kindermusik® Level 2

18 months - 3.5 years with a caregiver

40-minute class, once a week for 14 weeks

Our Level 2 classes encourage older toddlers to initiate their own ideas and explore their creativity. Each class offers plenty of fun outlets for toddler-style energy, promoting cognitive development through singing, dancing, and instrument play. Better still, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other parents and caregivers who are also experiencing the joys and complexities of these busy years, while learning to use music to create and simplify routines at home.

Fall Theme “Wiggles & Giggles”

Splash, hop, dance and snuggle as we affirm how our love for our children, along with movement and play nurture their learning in a profound way.

Kindermusik Kit: Access to class music on the Kindermusik app, two interactive storybooks — Watch Me! and Pete & PJ, a Home Activity Book, and a pair of zigzag block instruments, all conveniently stored in a Wiggles & Giggles carry bag.

Kindermusik materials kit fees are non-refundable once materials are opened.


ACTIVITIES

  • Exploring movement concepts and participating in musical interactions
  • Discovering different ways instruments can make sounds and experiencing a wide range of musical concepts
  • Identifying and vocally imitating sounds and learning to describe them
  • Learning to associate a picture with a sound
  • Singing songs with language patterns that explore rhythm, speech sounds, syntax, and rhyme

SKILLS & BENEFITS

  • Increased alertness, self-control, and ability to regulate their own movements
  • Stabilization of muscles necessary for healthy posture and overall balance
  • Improved coordination and locomotor skills, fine motor skills, and finger and hand strength

Kindermusik® Level 4

3.5 - 5 years with a caregiver

45-minute class, once a week for 14 weeks

Level 4 classes offer children exciting first experiences with musical symbols and more complex instruments, laying the groundwork for formal music instruction. You'll join the fun and watch as your child begins to master music terms and concepts, building a strong foundation for learning in other subjects like math, reading and writing.

Woodwind, brass, and stringed instruments provide the soundtrack as we explore dynamics, meter, and the music of Beethoven!

Kindermusik Kit: Three magazine style Family Guides with story, access to class music on the Kindermusik app, a flutophone, a mini maraca, and a triangle. 

Kindermusik materials kit fees are non-refundable once materials are opened.


ACTIVITIES

  • Listening to a variety of sounds, including music from individual instruments and complete compositions that highlight specific genres, cultures, composers or concepts
  • Playing instruments with an emphasis on steady beat, repeated rhythm patterns, graphic notation, and ensemble music
  • Experiencing various types of movement including creative movement, group dances and movement that explores concepts like high/low or staccato/legato
  • Singing a variety of songs in an appropriate range
  • Introduction to music concepts and vocabulary
