Program Description

The graduate certificate in AI assisted learning and instruction is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in online teaching and learning, focusing on integrating AI technologies. Designed for educators, corporate trainers, curriculum, and workshop facilitators, this program comprehensively explores digital pedagogy, instructional design, and technology integration for online and on-ground AI-enhanced learning environments. The graduate certificate may be earned as a stand-alone program or in combination with a master’s degree program such as the MA in education and innovation and the MA in talent development and training. 

Learning Outcomes

Successful graduates of the graduate certificate in AI assisted learning and instruction will be able to:

  • Design and apply AI-enhanced instructional strategies to support personalized learning.   
  • Use learning sciences to create appropriate evidence-based instructional approaches for adult and K-12 learners.
  • Build online and on-ground courses/learning experiences that utilize AI for accessibility and learner skills development.
  • Design immersive learning experiences with AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Evaluate ethical considerations like privacy and bias in AI learning applications.
  • Use AI tools to develop effective, data-informed instructional materials.
  • Evaluate AI tools to enhance lifelong learning and professional growth.

  • EDIN 5701 Learning Sciences in the Age of AI (3 hours)
  • EDIN 5702 Instructional Design (3 hours)
  • EDIN 5703 Instructional Development and AI (3 hours)
  • EDIN 5704 Online Course and Curriculum Design with AI (3 hours)
  • EDIN 5705 Learning and Instruction with VR and AR (3 hours)
  • EDIN 5706 Ethical Issues in AL Learning and Instruction (3 hours)
