The National Security Studies program is committed to the idea of personalized education based on close relationships between faculty and students. At the culmination of their studies, all National Security Studies students will undertake an independent research project, working with a faculty member to design, conduct and present their research.

Combined Degree Options

Dual Degree - Cybersecurity

This dual degree option combines the MA in National Security Studies and the MS in Cybersecurity into one course of study. With 10 required courses plus a capstone or thesis, students select electives from both programs. Upon completion of the 54 credits, two separate diplomas are issued at the same time. The two degrees cannot be awarded separately or sequentially under this arrangement.

Dual Degree - Criminal Justice

This dual-degree option combines the MA in National Security Studies and the MS in Criminal Justice into one course of study.  With six required courses plus a capstone or thesis, students select remaining course electives. Upon completion of the 48 credits, two separate diplomas are issued at the same time. The two degrees cannot be awarded separately or sequentially under this arrangement.

Double Major - International Relations

This Master of Arts program consists of 51 credit hours in both national security studies classes and international relations classes. Students have the option of capstone or thesis. Upon completion of the 51 credits, a single degree is awarded with two major concentrations. The two programs cannot be awarded separately or sequentially under this arrangement.
