Online Faculty

Online Instructor Training Program

The instructor training program to prepare all online instructors for teaching with the tools of WorldClassRoom, powered by Canvas, is currently in progress.  All online instructors should complete training before beginning to teach for the first time with Canvas.

All Steps are required for all online faculty. Faculty should anticipate completing all Steps at least 6 weeks prior to the first term they are scheduled to teach.

Not completing Steps 1 and 2 before mid-April 2013, may impact your ability to complete training. All teaching assignments on or after Summer 2013 are tentative and successful completion of these Steps are required.

Step 1 Webinar: Commit to Engage in WorldClassRoom

This 1 hour webinar will provide you with a deeper understanding of the importance of engaging students in the online environment and ask you to commit to excellence in online teaching and learning.

Please email the OLC to access Step 1 and begin the training process.

Step 2 Webinar: Overview of WorldClassRoom, Powered by Canvas

This 1 hour webinar, face-to-face, or online session will provide you with an introductory look at Canvas and help you start thinking about how teaching, learning, and engagement will change as we begin teaching in Canvas.

Please email the OLC to register for this Step 2 webinar.

Step 3: Teaching with the Tools of WorldClassRoom

This step of training is designed to ensure faculty feel confident teaching with the tools of WorldClassRoom and will be offered online for all online faculty or face-to-face in St. Louis and select metropolitan campuses.

The final step is only available after successful completion of Steps 1 and 2. Please email the OLC if you have completed Steps 1 and 2, but have not yet received access to your training course.
