    Christine Brewer, One of the Most Sought-After Dramatic Sopranos in the World, Presents Master Class at Webster University

    What/Who:

    Christine Brewer, one of the most sought-after dramatic sopranos in the world and Webster Visiting Artist in Residence, is giving a master class at Webster University. Participants will be advanced voice students from Webster's music department, but the class is open to the public to observe. Proceeds will benefit the James Nigh Scholarship in Opera at Webster University.

    Ms. Brewer just returned from Australia and New Zealand, where she garnered stellar reviews for performances of music by Richard Strauss. She appeared most recently at Carnegie Hall in performances of the Mahler 8th Symphony and at the Sante Fe Opera in a demanding opera by Gluck.

    When:

    Wednesday, September 23, 2008, 7 p.m.

    Where:

    Community Music School of Webster University, 535 Garden Ave.

    Cost:

    $10 per person, $5 for seniors, and free to all students with ID
