Four graduate degree programs now enrolling students

President Stroble and Leanne King with the GorlokSAN ANTONIO – Webster University has opened a new location in San Antonio, its fourth location in the region, but the first that is not on a military base.  The University's newest campus, located at 1100 NW Loop 410, Suite 600, celebrated its Grand Opening on Oct. 22.

Webster has had a presence on San Antonio military installations since 1976 when it began offering classes on Fort Sam Houston.  Webster now has more than 3,000 alumni in the San Antonio area.

The University has extended campuses on approximately 40 military installations in the United States including Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base. Webster also has several other communities with both metro and military locations, including Jacksonville, Little Rock and Charleston.

Webster University has strong ties to communities with military installations, as evidenced by our long history of providing service members, veterans, and their dependents with access to high quality university education,” said Elizabeth “Beth” J. Stroble, president of Webster University. “We eagerly welcome the opportunity to expand access to Webster degrees in San Antonio as a result of opening our first metropolitan campus in the San Antonio community.

Webster received licensure from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board earlier this year and began offering graduate courses out of a temporary location in the summer.  The new Metro campus, which offers a weekend MBA program and master's of arts degrees in business and organizational security management, counseling, and procurement and acquisitions management, was established in August.

The Gorlok with Webster Alumna and astronaut Eileen Collins“San Antonio is an ideal location for a Webster University metropolitan campus, and the benefits will be mutual,” said Dr. Julian Schuster, provost, senior vice president, and chief operating officer.  “We look forward to the increasing impact this vibrant and multicultural city will have on our students and programs, and we welcome the opportunity to work with business, nonprofit and government organizations to provide high-quality, globally-focused degree programs.”

In January, the University plans to begin offering Undergraduate Degree Completion programs in management and business for students who may have started an undergraduate degree at a community college or another university, but did not complete it.
