BA in Global Journalism
An increasingly global society needs journalists that transcend local borders.
Global Journalism students desire to become these journalists. They prepare for careers in national and international reporting, as well as for graduate studies in foreign service or international areas of business.
Students are taught reporting, writing and design skills and, during their time here, have the opportunity to write for a pair of award-winning publications: The Journal, the weekly campus newspaper, and The Ampersand, a biannual magazine/yearbook.
Their studies also take them beyond St. Louis. Students learn about the philosophies and economic structure of media in both developed and underdeveloped countries.
Global Journalism students are required to study abroad and achieve a certain level of proficiency in another language.
