    Scholarships Available through Altrusa

    You may be eligible for a $500 scholarship awarded by Altrusa International, Inc., of Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S.A. Foundation.

    One or more nontraditional students will be awarded $500 per year. Recipients will be chosen in January 2010. Consideration will be given to students who may not be eligible for other scholarships; are motivated to achieve the highest level of self-improvement; show potential for success in their field of study. Awards will be made directly to the educational institution toward tuition, fees, or other expenses.

    Residents of Pulaski County, Arkansas enrolled in an educational program at an institution certified by the State of Arkansas are eligible to apply. These institutions include colleges, universities, vocational schools, and other post-high school programs of study.

    Applications can be obtained at Webster University’s Little Rock Metropolitan Campus at 200 West Capitol Avenue, Suite 1500. Students may also contact Altrusa International, Inc., of Little Rock, Arkansas U.S.A Foundation at P.O. Box 7245, Little Rock, Ark., 72217.

    Altrusa International, Inc. of Little Rock is a charitable corporation founded in 1992. Its objectives include being of service to both young and mature women already engaged in or entering business or professional fields and promoting educational and cultural training and improvement.

    Webster University Recognized Nationally as “Military Friendly School”

    ST. LOUIS, August 17, 2009 – G.I Jobs magazine today announced the release of its 2010 list of Military Friendly Schools. Webster University received the highest honor being named as one of the top 15 percent of all U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools which are doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

    “Webster University has a long-standing tradition of welcoming both active duty military and veterans to its worldwide network of campuses,” said Webster University President Elizabeth J. Stroble. “Approximately one-sixth of our 21,000 students have a military connection. Some people aren’t aware that Webster University is one of the largest provider of graduate-level military education in the United States.”

    Schools on the list include state universities, private colleges, community colleges and trade schools. Webster University joins other Military Friendly Schools including American University, Arizona State University, Auburn University, Ball State University, California State University (Fresno, Monterey Bay and Long Beach campuses), City College of San Francisco, Creighton University School of Nursing, Drury University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida State University, Illinois State University, Indiana State University, John Carroll University, Johns Hopkins University Engineering for Professionals, Kansas State University, Marquette University, Miami University, Oregon State University, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, Syracuse University, Texas A & M University, The Ohio State University, The University of Akron, The University of New Mexico, Tulsa Community College, University of Louisville, University of Notre Dame, University of Oklahoma, University of Southern California, Vanderbilt University and Virginia Military Institute.
