Study Abroad

Announcing the Year of International Human Rights 2009-10: The Right to Food and Water
The College of Arts & Sciences is dedicating the 2009-10 academic year to human rights issues associated with food and water. Visit the YIHR website to learn more about this special year and to stay abreast of upcoming events and activities.

For more information on international human rights, see the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The declaration’s Article 25.1 states that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services…”

R.N. to B.S.N.
The B.S. in Nursing, a degree-completion program for registered nurses, is now available online in Missouri and Florida. The program is also offered in a classroom setting in St. Louis and Kansas City.

15th Annual Humanitarian Conference Wrap-Up
The 2010 Webster Geneva conference was titled “Access to Resources and the International Community.”

Prof. David Clewell Named Missouri Poet Laureate
David Clewell, Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program, has been named Missouri’s new poet laureate. His duties will include making appearances at public libraries and schools across the state and composing an original poem about Missouri. (See Clewell reading from Walt Whitman’s Song of Myself.  The occasion was Webster’s 2008 Global Ecology Conference.)
