Webster University is seeking a part-time Department Assistant in the Office of Advancement.
This position is responsible for select administrative duties in the Office of Advancement, providing administrative support to the Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations (CFGR) team while also supporting departmental administrative information systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary administrative support person to the Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations (CFGR) team such as handling correspondence, preparing/assembling packets of information and proposals, providing assistance with scheduling meetings and making travel arrangements, etc.
  • Provide event support for CFGR events including invitation mailings; online calendaring and e-mail invitations; tracking RSVPs; making nametags; gathering supplies; event check-in when needed; and   follow-up as required.  
  • Become proficient in grants management component of Advancement database system (currently Jenzabar CX); enter updates to records, answer questions on capabilities, etc.
  • Support departmental priorities by becoming proficient in the Advancement database system to obtain information, analyze reports, and complete other projects as assigned; completing assigned ad hoc administrative projects; sand learning University and departmental policies and procedures and communicating those effectively to address inquiries from staff.
  • Support departmental administrative information systems by assisting with updating constituent data in enterprise system, researching “lost” alumni, and entering national change of address updates; coordinating large data entry maintenance projects (e.g. parent records, activity/event codes, interest/survey information, etc.); and maintaining records such as for current involvements (trustees, advisory boards, etc.)
  • Handle requests and contact with alumni, volunteers, donors, students and all levels of University staff and faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Two years college course work and/or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to work independently.
  • Well-organized and able to complete tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in dealing with competing priorities with little supervision.
  • Excellent grammar skills and proofreading ability.

General Maintenance Technician - Electrician

Webster University has a position available for a General Maintenance Technician II/Electrician. Responsibilities include: using basic skills and knowledge to perform routine general repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment; and equipment installation within the University in support of the Facilities Operations department.  

Specific tasks as an electrician will consist of but are not limited to: knowledge of and possess the ability to work with and install 120/208, 220/480 volt ac circuits per the electrical code. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Plan layout and install electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications. Troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment and make repairs as needed.   

In addition, this person will review work orders, order materials for the completion of jobs, and monitor inventory. Assist with event set-ups and office moves and respond as an on call contact on a rotating basis. This individual will also assist with other general facilities operations duties as needed.

The position requires a Class E driver's license with no record of suspension or revocation, adherence to shop safety practices and rules, and ability to operate tools and equipment associated with building maintenance trades. One to two years of related work, experience is preferred. Must be willing to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds and work outside in inclement weather.

This position leads IT and university’s global initiatives to adopt and implement the ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) framework through the development of internal process documentation and the capture of key process indicators (KPIs). This position also is lead for IT Change Management processes, including IT quarterly Maintenance Weekends, change categorization, approval and end-user sign-off.

The IS Assistant Director also manages staff responsible for developing IT documentation, creating and presenting workshops and other technical training, creating and distributing University-wide IT communications in all forms, maintaining required Information Services statistics and key performance indicators, and providing general/specialized end user support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field

Webster University’s Project Management Office is seeking a graduate assistant to join the Business Process Center of Excellence. The Center of Excellence carries out business process analysis and optimization projects across University departments, identifying improvements that elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. COE staff will receive top-tier training on the job while working with expert consultants.

COE Graduate Assistants will work directly on process improvements to drive the University forward into the next century of education while receiving valuable knowledge and experience in business analysis and optimization. Graduate Assistants will learn to document and analyze business processes, identify improvements and deliver recommendations for process change. They will support and coordinate special projects, apply analytical skills to solve moderate to complex problems and become well-versed in business process analysis. They will learn to document and model both current and future state processes using the IBM Blueworks software.

Graduate Assistants will support organizational change management and communications involving business process optimization. They will also provide technical and administrative support for the Process Center of Excellence, as well as other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Candidates with significant collegiate teaching experience in the areas of composition, analysis, and music theory who hold an earned doctorate in music are preferred. Applicants having a Master’s degree in music and a substantial record of professional experience may be considered. Applicants should be active composers with the potential for significant achievement in the field of composition. The ideal candidate will have an interest in a variety of genres, experience with music composition software and technology, and the ability to teach curriculum in these areas. Areas of interest might include, but are not limited to, music for film or games, electroacoustic music, or music in the vernacular tradition.  

Duties:
The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in composition (including private instruction), music theory (both tonal and atonal/ post-tonal), and other areas, including general education, but also depending on the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the Department.The appointee will be expected to engage in student advising activities, serve as advisor to students in the areas of composition and music theory, and supervise student projects and research. Additional assignments may include teaching courses in support of the music program and other duties assigned by the Chair of the Department of Music. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (specialization open) is preferred at the time of appointment, although consideration will be given to strong candidates who are ABD.

Duties: Strong preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, licensed or license-eligible in Missouri, and an active program of scholarship with undergraduate involvement. This is a twelve (12) month academic position.

Duties include teaching 5 courses and administering the nursing programs for the Kansas City Extended Campus under the direction and supervision of the Chair of the Nursing program and in collaboration with the regional director of Kansas City Metro campus. Incumbent is also responsible for recruiting BSN and MSN students, advising BSN and MSN students of program options, policies, and procedures, and supporting the Midwest extended campuses in the region with the recruitment of online students.    This individual will orient new BSN and MSN faculty to University and program policies and procedures.

This individual will be responsible for the day to day operations of the KC nursing programs, which includes, but is not limited to: Scheduling course offerings for each term, assigning faculty to courses, maintaining faculty employment files and clinical contract files.

It is expected that the individual will engage in professional development and other activities to support the nursing department, and participate in department, college, and university governance activities, and other university events. MHA or a master's degree in a related area with an emphasis in health care management is required. The Vienna Campus of Webster University is seeking a proven research-focused candidate to join our growing faculty in Business and Management. The candidate will be an individual who has embarked on a successful career through their academic work to date, and is now looking to move to the next stage in an environment which values research excellence and creative pedagogy. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to make a significant contribution to the field of expertise by publishing in internationally recognized refereed academic journals. S/he will be contributing to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The position entails a 3-3 teaching load including core courses in Economics (e.g. Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Money & Banking, Industrial Organizations, International Trade, etc.). Furthermore, s/he will contribute to the curricular and co-curricular development of the department and be able to assume some administrative responsibilities at the departmental level. Special attention will be given to the further development and growth of the new BA in Economics degree.  The initial contract will be for three years with the opportunity of extension and promotion.

Compensation:

Assistant Professor: EUR 50,000 annually (gross) and above depending on experience and publication record.

At the same time, s/he will be able to direct her/his teaching to an international student audience with a predominantly European background.

The department currently concentrates on a general Media Communications major, with courses ranging from theory and history to writing, audiovisual media and legal and ethical issues (see http://www.webster.ac.at/media-communications/bachelor-arts-ba-media-communications for details). In the near future the department will also emphasize visual media production.  The candidate is expected to have practical experience with current developments in multimedia digital communication. The initial contract will be for three years with the opportunity of extension and promotion.

Compensation: minimum gross annual salary of EUR 70,000, depending on experience and publication record; salary includes full insurance benefits of the Austrian Social insurance system.

Essential:

  • A PhD in Media/Communications/Journalism or MFA, MS, or MA in a relevant production field (for appointment at Full Prof level, Habilitation or equivalent are mandatory)
  • Academic leadership experience
  • Practical experience in at least one area of communications/journalism/media production
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a collegial and intellectual environment
  • A solid scholarly track record or production equivalent
  • Previous university-level teaching experience at English-language institutions and demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence
  • International experience
  • Excellent spoken and written English; native speaker preferred

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to conduct successful grant-writing
  • Expertise in any of the following areas: journalism, media production, media management, communication studies
  • Working knowledge of German

The candidate will be an individual who has embarked on a successful career through their academic work
to date, and is now looking to move to the next stage in an environment which values research excellence and creative pedagogy. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to make a significant contribution to the field of expertise by publishing in internationally recognized refereed academic journals. S/he will be contributing to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The position entails a 3-3 teaching load including core courses in Business and Management. Depending on the applicant’s research focus and teaching interests, the topics covered should focus on one or more of these areas: International Business and Management, Market Entry Strategies, Business or Managerial Policies and Strategies, Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, s/he will contribute to the curricular and co-curricular development of the department and be able to assume some administrative responsibilities at the departmental level. Thesis
supervision and the teaching of a Research Seminar will also be expected. The initial contract will be for three years with the opportunity of extension and promotion.  

Compensation:

  • Assistant Professor: EUR 50,000 annually (gross) and above depending on experience and publication record.
  • Associate Professor: EUR 60,000 annually (gross) and above depending on experience and publication record.
  • Full Professor: EUR 70,000 annually (gross) and above depending on experience and publication record.
  • Compensation includes full insurance benefits of the Austrian Social insurance system.
