Celebrate National Oreo Day and Dunk to Roberto Salas

March 6 is National Oreo® Day. That brings to mind the recent industry acclaim and social media buzz Oreo® started with a tweet during the Super Bowl blackout. School of Communications (SOC) alumnus Roberto Salas was part of the creative team at 360i working with Oreo® that made it possible. In his honor, have an Oreo® today and dunk to his success!

Associate professor Sally Howald recalled Salas as a member of the competitive ad campaign class (ADVT 4910 Advertising Campaign Production) that placed second in the nation the year he competed. In the class, students serve as part of an advertising team, produce an integrated communications plan, and compete against teams from other universities in the American Advertising Federation (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition. Howald described Salas as “a talented student who was passionate about graphic design.” Salas acknowledged Sally Howald and former SOC advisory board member Charlie Claggett as mentors and attributed part of his career success to his Webster education.

Roberto Salas graduated from Webster University's School of Communications in 2006 with a BA in advertising and marketing communications. Shortly after graduation, he went to Miami Ad School to continue his studies. He is currently the art director at 360i in New York.
