Acting Auditions

General auditions begin at 8:30 am each day. Callbacks will be held during the afternoon and evening of the same day. Each auditionee will have a one-and-a-half-minute time frame to present one or two pieces. Musical pieces are encouraged for those wishing to be considered for musicals, but one at least one piece must be non-musical. An accompanist will be provided.

Dance Auditions

Dance auditions are optional and will be held each day following the general auditions.

Application Procedure

Applications will be available online in mid-October. The MidWest Theatre Auditions is going paperless, so we no longer accept mail-in applications. Acting Audition applications will be due December 6, 2013. Tech, Design, and Stage Management Interview Applications will be due January 10, 2014. Tech, Design and Stage Management Interviews

The interviews are located at the Nerinx Hall Cafeteria. You will be assigned a time period in which you are able to interview with the theatres of your choice. The time periods are 10 am–noon and 2 pm–4 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Callbacks occur during the evening on the same day as your interviews. Your application will be photocopied and given to the theatre representatives; however, you will need to bring resumes and your portfolio to your interviews.

Headshots and Résumés

All applicants should bring copies of their résumés and headshots to the auditions for callbacks. After you send in your application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation which will guide you through the process of sending in a small headshot that will be given to the theatre representatives.


There is an application fee of $40, payable online by Visa or MasterCard. We do NOT accept any other forms of payment. Checks and cash are NOT accepted.
