Annual Security and Fire Safety Report Notice of Availability
During the past year, Webster University’s Department of Public Safety commissioned a third party audit of all crime reporting methods and information gathering policies and processes. The audit’s purpose was to ensure continued compliance with the federally mandated Clery Act (the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act).
The results of the audit include recommendations on improvements that could be made to the University’s reporting processes and crime statistics gathering. Webster University has since implemented these recommendations, and, as a result, wishes to re-publish our 2012 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report for the Webster Groves campus with the corrected information and statistical data.
In addition to the Webster Groves campus crime report, the Annual Security and Fire Safety reports for each of the Webster University campuses and sites are available on the Webster University website at http://www.webster.edu/public-safety/reports.html
If you would like to receive a hard copy of any of the Annual Security and Fire Safety reports, you can stop by the Webster University Department of Public Safety on the Webster Groves campus located at 572 Garden Avenue St. Louis, MO 63119 or you can request that a copy be mailed to you by calling 314-968-7430 or sending an email to publicsafety@webster.edu
The reports contain information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security on each campus. The reports contain crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Webster University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from each campus. Some of the reports also contain information about fire statistics and fire safety (for those campuses with residential facilities).
This information is required by law and is provided by Webster University Department of Public Safety
